Spidertech™ Integrated System - Autorized Designer

Over the last twenty years we have lived and breathed sails and sail-making, totally dedicated to providing the best of every type of material to our sail-makers, leading them towards the use of technology, helping them grow professionally with one eye on their present needs and the other on the future.
Spidertech™ Integrated System is the fruit of this experience.

Sail making has traditionally involved primarily the sail maker's experience and instinct in developing sails by cutting and assembling flat panels. Sail making has now evolved, providing scientific and technical tools for the sail makers.
With Spidertech™ Integrated System, FMG offers sail-makers a new suite of technical computer tools for the design of sails which is directly coupled to an innovative production system.

With Spidertech Integrated System the sail-maker creates the structure and shape, using the Spidertech™ tools, then FMG produces a "personalised" sail for him. What better seal of guarantee for designer and boat owner?

Using Spidertech™ Integrated System the sail-maker uploads the encrypted design file containing the bi-dimensional flattened structure to FMG, where the production of the panels takes place. With the support of the FMG - Spidertech™ Integrated System technology - the production of a more refined, lighter and more durable product is guaranteed.

D4® - Custom Load Path Sail Laminate

Dimension-Polyant has added the first commercially available customized membrane sailcloth for the sailmaker to its product line. D4® membranes cover the full range of applications for the sailmaker, with a history covering boats of all sizes in Grand Prix and Club Race, Cruise and Mega Yachts. Different fibers and blends thereof combined with several surface options allow the sailmaker to create a custom product directed specifically to his customers needs. Sail shape designs are created by the sailmaker/designer the exact same as they always have.

Yarn densities and trajectories are varied throughout the membrane to ensure the optimal amount and direction of yarn for the predicted loads. Complementary yarn layouts are standard for the reefs, cunningham and tack. For the cruising sail, additional passes addressing loads from roller furling can be added to ensure proper thread support for partially furled sails.

he result of this advanced threadline construction with curved yarns is minimum weight for maximum shape retention, longevity and performance of any type of sail. When the D4® kit arrives at the loft the sailmaker completes the construction of the paneled sail. The result is an extremely smooth, durable and lasting sail that will perform over a wide range of conditions.
